In this new episode, Jesús talks to Ganes Kesari, Co-founder and Chief Decision Scientist at Gramener. He is an entrepreneur, AI thought leader, author, and TEDx speaker. Ganes advises executives of large organizations on data-driven decision making. His expertise lies in the application of data science to solve business challenges, and in building teams to promote a culture of data.

“I advise executives of enterprises and the leadership of NGOs and Governments on organizational transformation using data science. I specialize in building data science teams and helping firms adopt a data culture. Starting my career in technology consulting, I spent a decade helping Fortune 50 clients use technology to enable and transform their business. My tryst with data happened about a decade back when I co founded Gramener.

It has been an enriching journey at Gramener so far. I experimented with the practical aspects of startup building and have been observing how our culture continues to evolve.
Advising businesses on the application of data science I’ve been deepening my skills in data analytics, machine learning and information design. I’m fascinated by the big-picture view and complement it by hands-on execution with attention to details.

So, I’ve spent a lot of time strategizing and laying out the direction for Gramener. And, I’ve been leading from the front by executing the strategy – building teams and delivering value to clients.
I take exceptional interest in discovering deeper patterns, simplifying things and presenting information visually. I challenge myself to explain AI and technology without math or jargons. I rejoice whenever I manage to design visual stories that distill complex insights into a single sheet of paper.”

Thanks for sharing your knowledge Ganes!

In this new episode of our Data Stand Up! Podcast, Jesús talks to Vince Petaccio, Data Scientist at Amazon Web Services (AWS) where he develops machine learning tools to identify and mitigate fraud activity. Previously, he worked as a data scientist at Untapt, where he produced deep-learning natural language tools to help job candidates find fulfilling careers while avoiding systemic bias. Prior to this work, he developed real time neural data analysis in brain and spine surgery around New York City and Philadelphia. Vincen studied biomedical engineering – neural engineering at Drexel University and a computer science degree from Georgia Tech.

In this recording we focus on how Vince has become a passionate advocate for action on climate change: he has worked with Citizens’ Climate Lobby since 2016 to advance politically neutral climate policy and to build the political will for climate action, and lends his data science skills to projects seeking to mitigate the climate crisis with novel solutions.

In his own words: “I am passionate about leveraging emerging technologies for the benefit of others. I believe that human ingenuity can, with a bit of imagination and a lot of cooperation, yield practical solutions to challenging problems. My time outside of work is spent passionately pursuing nonpartisan solutions to the global challenge of climate change, feeding my insatiable curiosity, and improving the depth of my knowledge.”

Thanks for sharing your knowledge Vince!
