Victoriano Izquierdo is a CEO and co-founder of Graphext.

From 0 to 17 years old he grew up in Granada. After graduating high school, he traveled and enjoyed a year in New York. He then decided to return to Spain and study Computer Science in Madrid – he has lived as an exchange student in Melbourne (Australia) -and in Rome (Italy), as an undergraduate student.

He has collaborated with the media as a freelance and worked with agencies such as Getty Images, The Wideangle or Bilderberg.
In 2015 he founded Graphext which is an innovative analysis tool that has revolutionized the world of statistics, allowing people to analyze data and use machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to see the hidden information in the data.

In this new episode of our podcast Data Stand-Up! Jesús talks with Richard Benjamins, Chief AI & Data Strategist at Telefonica.

He is among the 100 most influential people in data-driven business (DataIQ 100, 2018). He is also co-founder and Vice President of the Spanish observatory for ethical and social impacts of AI (OdiseIA). He was Group Chief Data Officer at AXA (Insurance) and before that held for 10 years executive positions at Telefonica on Big Data and Analytics. He is the founder of Telefonica’s Big Data for Social Good department, expert to the EP’s AI Observatory (EPAIO), member of the B2G data-sharing Expert Group of the EC, and a frequent speaker at Artificial Intelligence events. He holds a PhD in Cognitive Science, has published over 100 scientific articles, and is author of the books “The myth of the algorithm: tales and truths of artificial intelligence” (Spanish) and “A Data-Driven Company”. He is strategic advisor of several start-ups, including BigML, Focus360 and Nexus Clips.

Before joining Telefonica, he was director and board member at iSOCO, which he co-founded in 1999. Based on his work, iSOCO were granted the National Award for Computer Science.

Benjamins has held positions at the Technical University of Madrid, the University of Amsterdam, the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, the University of Paris-South, France, and the Spanish Artificial Intelligence Research Institute in Barcelona.

He is a founding member of the editorial board of the Springer’s AI Ethics Journal, member of the ETNO task force on Artificial Intelligence, and of the GSMA task force on AI for Impact.

She is a third year PhD student at UCL under the supervison of Prof. Marc Deisenroth and she finished her 4 year Computing MEng degree from Imperial College London in 2014, with first honours and a prize of excellence for an outstanding overall performance.

Ana is widely known in Spain for her work in artificial intelligence and complex systems analysis (especially in the area of marketing and biomedical informatics).

Ana is closely linked to the world of AI research. She has worked for years in research at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, applying AI in Biomedical Informatics (more than 20 scientific articles published) and is currently doing a PhD in clustering techniques in complex systems.

She also has an entrepreneurial past. Not long ago, she was considered one of the 75 most relevant entrepreneurs in Spain by a leading publication, due to the company she co-founded (Leads Origins), accelerated by Google and SeedRocket before being acquired by EY.

Wallbox shares will start trading today on the NYSE under the ticker symbol “WBX” and warrants will trade under the ticker symbol “WBX.WS”.

Brian T. O’Neill is the founder of Designing for Analytics and a true believer in the importance of designing human-tailored data solutions. For over 20 years, he has been successful in creating innovative Advanced Analytical and AI business solutions for global leaders such as DellEMC or Tripadvisor, JP Morgan Chase amongst many others.

Brian and Jesús explore how extraordinary value can be created when the outputs of data science and analytics are turned into engaging, valuable decision support applications and user experiences centered around the stakeholders, as humans, in the loop. The importance of generating adoption when building a data application or business solution is also discussed throughout the call.

Brian also hosts his own podcast: Experiencing Data, where he reveals the strategies and activities that Product, Data Science, and Analytics leaders are using to deliver human-centered data products.

Brian also authored the DFA Self-Assessment Guide, teaches a seminar called Designing Human-Centered Data Science Solutions, and publishes a weekly Insights mailing list. In 2020, Brian began advising students in MIT’s Sandbox Innovation Fund and was published in O’Reilly Media’s 97 Things About Ethics in Data Science Everyone Should Know.
Brian is a classical and jazz musician by training, a professional drummer and percussionist in Boston.
